Demonstration Group

This is a demonstration group available for you to explore the functionality of the groups system. Membership approval is not required so when you select “Join” from the menu on the left you will automatically become a member. (Note: You must be a site member to join groups. You can leave this or any group at any time.) As a member of this group you’ll be able to participate in all areas of the groups system. Currently this includes posting group messages, uploading photos, publishing events, and creating polls, each of which is accessed on the group’s main menu.

Group messages can include announcements or information you want conveyed to the group membership. All messages are archived on the “Messages” tab in a reverse chronological order. Follow-up discussion for a particular group message is available via the commenting system. Photos specific to a group can be uploaded and accessed on the group “Photos” tab. Group-specific events can be created in a similar fashion and accessed on the group “Events” tab. Want some feedback about an issue that concerns the entire group? Create a poll for that. Notification for all content created within a group is handled by email and/or RSS feed depending on individual member preferences.

Feel free to test any or all of these features. Remember, this is a public, open membership group. Please do not select “Public” under the Groups section when creating a post. Posts submitted to “Demonstration Group” are included in email/RSS notifications to all subscribed group members so please refrain from posting inappropriate or excessive content. Enjoy!
